Now taxpayers can make GST payments through Credit Cards/Debit Cards on the GST Portal

The GST Portal has recently issued an update that taxpayers can make GST payments through Credit Cards/Debit Cards* on the GST Portal.

*Facility started in 10 States/UTs from 5th January 2024

  2. Delhi
  3. Goa
  4. Gujarat
  5. Haryana
  6. Himachal Pradesh
  7. Kerala
  8. Madhya Pradesh
  9. Maharashtra
  10. Odisha

*Applicable for all Credit/Debit cards powered by Rupay, MasterCard, Visa and Diners at present via Kotak Mahindra Bank

To utilize this feature, taxpayers should opt for the E-payment option, where they will find a specific section dedicated to Credit/Debit Card payments.

To proceed with Credit/Debit Card payments, users need to follow these steps:

  1. Select the E-payment option.
  2. Within the E-payment section, choose the Credit/Debit Card option.
  3. Subsequently, select the preferred bank for the transaction.
  4. Tick the agreement box for terms and conditions.
  5. Click on the “Make Payment” button to complete the transaction.

The taxpayers are advised to check the transaction charges before selecting the Credit Card, Debit Card and BHIM UPI sub-payment mode. The transaction charges if any, will be applicable over and above the tax amount in this payment option. Kindly refer to the respective Bank’s site for more details.
